If you’re hoping for an injection of excitement at the Kimbell, new head curator Malcolm Warner (from the Yale Center for British Art) may or may not be the ticket. A specialist in Victorian British art, he has put together some interesting group shows and got Yale to acquire Rachel Whiteread’s piece from the 1997 Venice Biennale. All we ask is this: no more Kimbell shows with the words “treasure,” “gold” or “impressionism” in the title, we beg of you.
