Congratulations to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, which this past December received a $1 million grant for building public participation in the arts from the Wallace Foundation. The MFAH will use their dough for Gateway to Art/De Puertas al Arte, a program to mount up to 4 shows of Latin art a year. Between the MFAH push and the Blanton’s hiring of curator Gabriel Perez-Barreiro, we’re going to see more exhibits around here focusing on Latin America.
