The Getty and the Met aren’t the only institutions giving up works that once were stolen: Fort Worth’s own Kimbell has returned their J.M.W. Turner Glaucus and Scylla to the heirs of John and Anna Jaffé, in France. Aside from works on paper at the Blanton and the Blaffer Foundation, that leaves the MFAH‘s Sheerness as seen from the Nore as the only Turner painting in the state.
