In January, The Galveston Arts Center was given a passel of artworks by the Galveston native artist and gallerist Margaret "Sis" Biehl, who passed away in July 2008. An enthusiastic supporter and board member of GAC, Biehl wanted the bulk of her art to be donated to center, which has organized a memorial show and sale opening April 9 at Arts and Frames at 1126 19th St. at Avenue L, Galveston. GAC Curator Clint Willour will give a gallery talk at 6 pm during the ArtWalk ppening on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Proceeds from the sale will help with the reconstruction of the Galveston Arts Center. Other venues participating in the April ArtWalk include: The Water’s Edge Studio and Gallery, J. Bangle’s Silk Stocking Gallery, Local Color, DesignWorks Gallery, Wagner Sousa Modern Art and others.
