The 8-page list of the 2010 Guggenheim Fellowships for the US and Canada is out, and Texans and ex-ans are well represented in the arts: UT art historians Troy Brauntuch and Lawrence Mcfarland, ex-CORE fellow Michael Jones McKean, and New York artist Luca Buvoli, who is currently in Houston working on a massive airport art installation. Nic Nicosia, who is now in Santa Fe, got one, too, along with a raft of mathematicians, anthropologists, poets and others.

The multiplicity of G’s in the word “Guggenheim”, along with the long, long list of recipients I read through to pick out the Texas visual art related ones, prompted the repetition of the G’s in the original title of this news piece. I had no intention of imitating the sound of stuttering, and apologise for any misunderstanding.
