Harris County Judge Ed Emmett is publicly pushing for a minimalist approach to rehabbing the Astrodome, removing much of its interior infrastructure and using it as a sort of giant air-condioned indoor park, an ideal venue for the sweaty outdoor festivals that clog downtown Houston annually.
