Artpace has just released a self-produced documentary on Vimeo and YouTube. The smooth, eight-minute mini-doc by Mark and Angela Walley tells the Artpace story in the words of famous artists and curators who have taken part in ArtPace’s programs over the years, with connecting narrative from the Linda Pace foundation’s deputy administrator Jan Jarboe Russel and Former Director Matthew Drutt. Well-groomed cameo appearances by Ken Little, Amy Cappellazzo, Buster Graybill, Teresita Fernandez, Glenn Ligon, Wangechi Mutu, Jeffrey Deitch, Anne Collier, Travis Capps, Dan Cameron, Mario Ybarra, Jr., and Tracey Moffatt outline ArtPace’s success in putting San Antonio on international art map. Near the end, as the fund-raising pitch intensifies towards the closing message: Russell says, “when you’re investing in Artpace, you’re investing locally, nationally, globally.”
