PODA: portable art pods for AAM museum conference kicks off at Discovery Green next Thursday

Portable on Demand Art (PODA) pods by local artists and collectives Aerosol Warfare, BOX 13 ArtSpace, Jillian Conrad, Lynne McCabe, Gabriel Martinez, Metalab, Anthony Thompson Shumate and The Joanna will alight in downtown Houston’s Discovery Green Park, just in time for the American Association of Museums Conference at the George R. Brown Convention center next door. A sort of art-in-a-truck idea but without the truck, the pods will be on display during park hours, 6am-10pm from May 19-June 5. There’s a kickoff party Thursday May 19 from 6-8pm, just before the park’s Thursday evening concert by “guitar-goddess and sultry, soul singer” Carolyn Wonderland. FREE!
