The first phase of Texas sculptor Margarita Cabrera’s retrospective that opened at the El Paso Museum of art on Sunday has already garnered some press attention from an unlikely source- Machinefinder.com, a website devoted to vintage John Deere tractors, featured Cabrera’s Arbol de la Vida (John Deere #790), mistakenly calling the ceramic sculpture a customized tractor-saying “Though it has been modified to include several artistic drawings and paintings, the vehicle still resembles the true form of the agricultural giant’s traditional machine.”
