The Idea Fund, the re-granting program that funds ideas too weird for anyone else has announced the awardees for its 2012 grants:

Michelle Benaim Steiner, Lope Gutierrez Ruiz, & Alexander Wright (Austin)
Aaron Dubrow, Xochi Solis, Jules Buck Jones, Drew Liverman, Scott Eastwood, Margit Raczkowski, Timothy Schmidt & Carlos Rosales-Silva (Austin)
Alejandro Saenz Jr. (Kingspoint Crew) (Webster, TX)
Lakes Were Rivers Collective (Austin)
Ariel Evans & Richard Yanas (Austin)
Nestor Topchy & Robert Rosenburg (Houston)
Lauren Woods (Allen, TX)
Christina Sukhgian Houle (San Marcos, TX)
Each artist (or team) receives $4000 to create and showcase projects in the coming year. There will be a public reception for the grantees in January 2012. The program is administered through Aurora Picture Show, DiverseWorks ArtSpace and Project Row Houses, and funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
