Fernando Johnson of Brookhaven College won the Dallas Art Dealers Association’s Edith Baker Art Scholarship, chosen from among seven finalists from the seven campuses of the Dallas Community College District. Art by Johnson and the six runner-up will be exhibited through Nov. 18 at Irving Arts Center.
Though taking clases a DCCD, Johnson has a B.F.A. The University of North Texas. His most current work is in clay as well as video art. He will be applying for graduate school in the spring of 2013, helped along by the $2500 scholarship.
