Alana Coates reports on Lady Base, a new gallery in San Antonio’s South Flores Arts District, in the most recent issue of Artmagazine SA. Run by artist Sarah Castillo, the new space, located inside Gallista Gallery at 1319 South Flores, will focus on works by women and the LGBT community.
Castillo and collaborators Ruth Leonela Buentello, Kristin Gamez, and Mari Hernandez are the Más Rudas artist collective, whose show, Brown Style, opened at Artpace last September.
The new gallery will hold a meet-and greet event on February 9th from 6-9 pm. Their inaugural show, Lady Works, featuring the work of Chris Davila, Audrya Flores, Suzy Gonzalez, and Theresa Moher, opens on March 2.
