The Idea Fund, the re-granting program funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation, is gearing up for its sixth round. Glasstire Editor Bill Davenport describes the Idea Fund as the “program that funds ideas too weird for anyone else;” the Warhol Foundation states that it is intended for “Texas-based, artist-generated or artist-centered projects that exemplify the unconventional, interventionist, conceptual, entrepreneurial, participatory, or guerrilla artistic practices that occur outside of the traditional frameworks of support.”
This year, the Fund will award $4,000 cash to up to ten weird artists and the deadline is November 4. To share facts about the program and the application process, there will be information sessions over the next few weeks at the following locations across the state:
DALLAS: Monday, September 23, 7 pm, at CentralTrak
SAN ANTONIO: Wednesday, September 25, 6 pm at the Casa Chuck Arts Residency

EL PASO: Friday, September 27, noon, at UTEP’s Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts
