The power pair that is Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Dallas Museum of Art Director Max Anderson are gearing up to host the New Cities Foundation Summit and launch the Global Cultural Districts Network next month in Dallas. The Global Cultural Districts Network is “a federation of global centers of arts and culture that fosters co-operation and knowledge-sharing among those responsible for conceiving, funding, building, and operating cultural districts.”

Dallas boasts the largest art and Culture District in the nation. But more, it has become the epicenter of rethinking the vital role of arts in fostering economic development. As such, it has become the center of thought leadership about the future of the City and about the growing recognition that art and culture play a vital role in ‘reimagining cities,’ the theme of the Dallas conference.
Mayor Rawlings is the Honorary President of the GCDN, and Anderson is the Co-chairman. The New Cities Foundation Summit, ‘Re-imagining Cities: Transforming the 21st Century Metropolis,’ takes place June 17-19 with speakers and guests from around the globe.
