Make plans now to see Leonard’s remarkable camera obscura installation — if you missed her in the Whitney Biennial, you can travel just as far to Marfa to see it!
Now in their 17th year, Aurora’s Extremely Shorts Festival is a juried competition of three-minute or shorter films. If you don’t like something, don’t worry: it will be over soon.
New autobiographical paintings from LA-based comic book author Esther Pearl Watson, whose anti-pastoral scenes include livestock, Dr. Pepper, and flying saucers.
New work from the 2013-2014 resident artists: John Hodany, Autumn Knight, and Joe Joe Orangias. The GAR is an 11-month residency “designed to give artists a gift of time and space for the development of their work.”
“A sonically interactive light sculpture based on “the ancient Carthaginian General Hannibal Barca and his role in the second Punic War. Hephaestus will be working overtime.”
Sounds like you might kick yourself for not going… or you might kick yourself FOR going.

Not to be picky, but the dates on the Zoe Leonard installation are confusing. You say it’s going on from now until December of 2004, apparently in violation of certain temporal-spatial laws. If I click on the title, there is a note that says it will be available only over the Christmas holidays in 2014. Are either of those dates right?
You’re correct (and thank you), it’s up through the end of 2014. Opened December 2013. So you’ve got 6 months to go see this sucker. It’s worth the effort.
