The Linda Pace Foundation in San Antonio has just released details of its planned main exhibition building to open in 2018. Designed by Brit starchitect David Adjaye, it’s loosely based on a sketch and description dreamed up by Linda Pace before her death in 2007, and will be called Ruby City.
The 14,000 square foot building will house Pace’s notable art collection and will anchor the Linda Pace Foundation campus, which runs from South Flores Street to the San Pedro Creek. The building, according to the Pace announcement, will be “a two-story structure with an exterior clad in crimson-hued panels of precast concrete with glass aggregate. The planes are punctuated by strategically placed, oversized windows directed toward park and city views.” It will be free and open to the public.
