The unlikely love affair between NFL (or rather, certain team owners) and art continues in DFW. It was announced last Thursday that an Ellsworth Kelly sculpture is the newest piece installed in the Dallas Cowboys’ art-filled AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The piece, a white wall sculpture made of painted aluminum, was bought in October by Jerry and Gene Jones, the Cowboys’ owners. The $2.3 million work has been installed at the stadium’s main entrance just in time to greet football fans for this year’s Thanksgiving game between the Cowboys and the Panthers. (This year’s Thanksgiving thanks: Romo is back on the field.)
Currently, the Dallas Cowboys Art Collection in the public areas of the stadium includes 59 installations, sculptures, and murals by artists ranging from Jenny Holzer to Texas native Trenton Doyle Hancock. If you want to know where to look, ask any security guard. They know.
