Jessica Fuentes and William Sarradet discuss the museums, galleries, and art you should see in Plainview, Canyon, Amarillo, and Wichita Falls.
“We found that there are absolutely hidden gems in these locations — the people at the museums and universities have a longstanding history in the region. Even if they aren’t from the Panhandle, they’ve been there a long time.”

I enjoyed your 2 part series on the museums in the Texas Panhandle. I personally am always thrilled to visit the OJAC, The Grace and the PPHM. I think you really missed the mark(especially with the PPHM) by not discussing their broad art collection. In fact by stating it needed to possibly be “refreshed” was unnecessary. Should the Kimball Art Museums collection be “refreshed”.
PPHM has the most extensive collection of Frank Reaugh paintings and pastels in existence. Their Early Texas Art collection contains masterpieces by Dallas Nine artists and their New Mexico collection offers many famous artists. As you suggest, they should not stand still and not add newer artists as well, but you missed an opportunity to verbalize a great collection.
